One of the most awaited donghua series “Dragon Prince Yuan” also known as Zhou Yuan has now finally announced its official release date. Its final trailer has already been released and by looking at the trailer it suggests that this new upcoming donghua series has the potential to compete with “Battle through the heaven” and “Martial Universe”, and give us the same viewing experience. This, isn’t surprising, because the writer, producer and Studio behind it are the same team responsible for Btth and MU.
Series Overview :
The series “Dragon Prince Yuan” also known as “Zhou Yuan” is adapted from Novel of same name written by Tian Can Tudou.
This series tells the story of a young man Zhao Yuan, the Prince of the great Zhou Empire, was born with the rare gift of the Holy Dragon’s blessing, which he lost in his childhood due to rebellion action. The rebellious Wu Clan, after taking over the empire, forced the Zhou Dynasty to transfer blessings to the Wu Clan’s children- ‘Wu Huang’ and ‘Wu Yao’ under the threat of extermination.
At 14, Zhou Yuan faces a life-threatening challenges as the poison from the transfer intensifies every three years. Although his blessings were taken away and became useless person. By chance, he met main female protagonist Yaoyao,

Dragon Prince Yuan Release date :
The 3D anime adaptation of this series was announced by the original writer on its official page on Weibo on August 8, 2021. And finally, after two years, it has been confirmed that it will be premiered on May 30, 2024 and further upcoming episodes will be updated every Thursday.
The series “Dragon Prince Yuan” will be broadcast as a half year series consisting of 26 episodes. A total of 4 chapters have been registered and two chapter have currently been approved.
Is Really Zhou Yuan is going to be part of Martial Universe and Battle through the heaven
There is not definitive conformation regarding the collaboration, as no seperate announcement has been made. However, an official post hints that Lin Dong and Xiao Yan will be a part of this donghua universe. This is further supported by the release of a dedicated trailer featuring these characters.
The trailer shows that the director has thoughtfully arranged for the collaboration between “Battle through the heaven” and “Martial Universe”. Because it is clearly shown in the trailer that Xiao Yan and Lin Dong both make appearance. They are seen standing top of mountain observing Zhou Yuan from a distance and expressing their anticipation of meeting him soon.
Trailer review :
The Characters Modelling in the trailer is decent. Although expectations for exceptional animation were high since Motion Magic studio is handling the animation. However, if the series receives a positive response in the future, its animation quality is likely to improve. This pattern is evident in the series such as “Btth” and “Martial Universe” where initial season had modest animation that significantly improved as the series gained fans support.
We hope this issue will be solved before the release of the series, as there are still half month left for it release.
